Bruce Laughton emceed the event in the evening. The speakers of the evening included Barry Dong, Craig Norris Jones (Coast Hotels & Resorts) and Mike Orders (Just Aid Foundation).

The grand prize draw was awarded through a random raffle draw. Grand prize included two nights accommodation in the Lost Lake Lodge and a round of golf for two at Big Sky Golf and Country Club. Runner up prize was a two night stay in a one bedroom suite at the Residence Inn at Marriott in Whistler.

The grand prize draw tickets were sold by placing an envelope with the tickets on each of the tables and having the participants sell them to each other. The grand prize draw raised $1,630.

Golfers also received prizes in several other categories. The foursome which won the tournament by posting the lowest gross score were the perennial champions Tim Charron, Darryl Hebert and this year’s assembled ringers: John Saunders and Todd Hart. Having lost the Wannamakit Trophy last year to Dan Rogers’ ringers, the determination of the Charron/Hebert group this year could not be denied except by a change in the rules. This year the trophy was awarded to the foursome with the low net score determined according to the Callaway Day Handicap scoring system. This trick will only work once because Tim will most certainly attend all meeting of the organizing group next year to ensure the rules are not manipulated. So it is safe to assume that next year the Wannamakit will be awarded the group with the lowest gross score.

The Just Golf Ball was a new idea this year where participants purchased a ball for $20 which would automatically win them a coupon but also give them the chance to win one of over a hundred prizes. The golf balls were sold by volunteers from the Imperial Hotel Management College. The Just Golf Ball Draw raised $1,140.

Gimme and Mulligan Sales

Two volunteers, Laura Mills and Sandi Case, sold gimme and mulligans at the tournament. Gimmes were sold for 10feet for $10 or 20 feet for $15 dollar. Mulligans were $10 each or 18 for $160. This year a new high roller package was introduced called the Rolls Royce package. This contained 18 mulligans and 5 gimmes. This year gimme and mulligan sales came to $4,050.
